The XOOPS organisation ("XOOPS") is committed to protecting the privacy of users of the XOOPS.org sites. We intend to give you as much control as possible over your personal information, including registration data. As part of the normal operation of the XOOPS.org sites, we collect information from you. This Privacy Statement describes the information we collect about you and how that information may be used.

Information Gathered through the XOOPS.org sites:

XOOPS will track the domains from which people visit the XOOPS.org sites in order to gain aggregate data that may be analyzed for trends and statistics. Subject to the provisions of this Privacy Statement, XOOPS may use accumulated aggregate data for several purposes including, but not limited to, marketing analysis, evaluation of XOOPS's services, and business planning.

Currently, XOOPS uses personal information as a basis for notifications to users. Generally, the user names, email addresses, and any additional information that a user may choose to post are publicly available on the XOOPS.org sites. When users voluntarily and publicly disclose personal information that may contain Registration Data or otherwise post personal information in conjunction with content subject to a license, such personal information necessarily will be disclosed subject to the terms of the applicable license. An example of such a disclosure includes, but is not limited to, a user's disclosure of personal information as part of a message posted to a public message forum, or a publicly-released software application.

XOOPS may conduct surveys or other studies of its user base and usage for marketing and planning purposes. Participation in such surveys is at the user's option, but XOOPS does reserve the right to conduct mandatory surveys in the future. With respect to information collected from such surveys or studies, and in the event that responses are to be publicly disclosed, users will be notified at the time they take the survey and XOOPS will disclose only aggregate information regarding its users and not personal information identifying any specific individual. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in cases where surveys allow users to submit written comments, and where XOOPS advises users of the possibility of such disclosure at the time they take the survey, XOOPS reserves the right to disclose text information provided by any user through such a survey, provided that no personal information identifying that user is disclosed. Circumstances under which XOOPS would publicly disclose aggregate information include, but are not limited to, sharing survey results with the site population, providing data to XOOPS advertisers on user preferences and/or demographics, business planning, and publicizing overall usage data in press communications.

Cookies: XOOPS employs "cookies" to provide users with tailored information. A "cookie" is an element of data that a website, when visited by a user, sends to that user's browser which, in turn, may store that element on the user's hard drive or memory. However, at his or her option and at his or her sole expense and responsibility, any user may block or delete our cookies from his or her hard drive. However, by disabling cookies, certain site features and functionality may no longer work properly, or at all.

Other Notification: XOOPS may use user-provided e-mail addresses to contact users on an individual basis. Hi,

I submitted a project request before christmas and did not get any information per email that my request was approved and the project created. So I did wait some weeks (until today) before asking if my request has gone awry. I accidentally saw that the project was created (because it was in the New Projects list yet).

I wonder, if it was possible to send a confirmation email when

1. the request was sent in
2. the request was approved.

Otherwise, the applicant may be in wonder whether his request was unsuccessful and he is forced to look again and again until his project appears under the New Projects.

Only a suggestion... ;)

Hello,

I have massive problems when navigating dev.xoops.org. For instance, I was trying to find a way to the forums. I thought "Ok, then let's click on 'Forums' on the left side under 'Main Menu'". But doing this only brings me to http://dev.xoops.org/modules/forum/, which appears to be rather useless, since there are only some excerpts of various forums and, even worde, most entries are access restricted.

There definitely should be a main menu link leading to http://dev.xoops.org/modules/newbb/, which is the only way to gain any general view on the forums. Otherwise, it is very hard to find any entry point when trying to write a message. It took 5 minutes to find my way before I could click on "New Message" in the right forum. ;)

Thomas

BTW: why are there two empty categories "Category 1" and "Category 4"?

I have had 2 individuals say that they were unable to register due to an internal error. You should provide a Contact form or you will never know you are blocking new members from registering or having problems with your site.

Private Messages: Need for notification

Hello,

I and a lot of other users (as I know from german xoops-communitys) would like to have a notification for incoming new private messages. Most users expect this function and I (as webmaster) would like to control the presetting for new users.

To avoid too much email-traffic it perhaps is usefull to distinguish between "inform for every PM" and "inform about the first unread PM".

Needless to say this function only makes sense, when you've activated "notification with email", not with PMs (to avoid an endless loop).
best regards
Sebl

Hello, i don?t exactly now where i can post this Project, so move it where you want. My english is not so advanced, therefore i let me help by translator.

creeping slowly I think the project truetronic.de could have the state beta.

The idea was, and has also held that each producers of electronic music, all the home fans and crews posed by the much too superficial Myspaceworld landscape of the fighting, there can present and without side wind from the big labels grow and make a name. Small but efficient is also part of the concept, because the server is not more than 200 artists. This could be in the distant future, a knockout system to establish the quality on a higher level. Ideas for further function expansion are of course already there but because the page is still very young and untested, should something happen step by step. As far as I can, I will this page self-financing and not include advertising. The Artists must also pay nothing and retain their rights in their tracks without if and but.

www.truetronic.de

I hereby would like once fully thank all of which made it possible, that I have a site with relatively little effort could create. Especially, I would like once again to FRANKBLACK-JOE for the work without the page SO never went online. A big greeting to the OS&Xoops community You are the future and the last stronghold of free people in this difficult time.
